Don't miss out on a Reception place

If your child was born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 you must apply for a Reception place in Primary School for September 2026, even if your child currently attends our Nursery.

After School Clubs

Please see below after school clubs on offer this half term.

Tuesday 3.30pm-4.15pm: Dance for Year 3-6, £2.50 per session.

Thursday 3.30pm-4.30pm: Music for Year 3-6, £2.50 per session.

Thursday 3.30pm-4.30pm: Arts and crafts for Year 1 and 2, £2.50 per session.

In order to secure your child’s place, please pay for the club on the my child at school app. The clubs are on offer on the app on a first come, first served basis with limited space. Pupils will not be able to attend if the payment is not received as this confirms the place in the club. All clubs start the WEEK BEGINNING 17th November. Please email info@solebayacademy.org if you have any issues making payments. Thank you.

Star Pupils!

Nursery/Reception
Danya – For learning to write some of the letters in his name independently.

Zaayra – For becoming more confident in class and joining in during carpet discussions.

1/2 Red
Khadija – Khadija is star pupil for showing brilliant focus, independence, and determination in writing.
She took responsibility for her own learning and produced wonderful work!

Ayman – Ayman is star pupil for showing wonderful courage and enthusiasm when sharing ideas in class, particularly in shared reading. Well done Ayman!

3/4 Red
Saheim (for excellence) – Saheim has really tried his best to exceed in everything.

Nuha (for excellence) – Nuha has been trying to complete some work independently.

5 Red
Tamim (for excellence) – Tamim has been intrigued to learn and extremely inquisitive during our topic lessons. He has been contributing efficiently in class.

Nabila (for integrity) – Nabila always demonstrates integrity within the classroom. She has been displaying excellence in her behaviour and attitude towards learning.

6 Red
Muadh – For working really hard in his maths lesson. Muadh is becoming more confident and independent in maths lessons.

Ihsan – Ihsan has made a lot of improvements in his presentation, his work looks clear and clutter free. Well done Ihsan!

Reporting Absence

We are all different, but all equal

At Solebay Primary, we believe that kindness is at the heart of everything we do.

Every day, we make a conscious effort to treat one another with respect, understanding, and compassion. We celebrate our differences and recognise that these make our school community stronger and more vibrant. No matter who we are or where we come from, we know that everyone deserves to be valued and included — because we are all different, but all equal.

Attendance and Punctuality

It is important for all our pupils to come to school every day and on time! Regular attendance and punctuality helps us learn well in school, make friends and have fun. When we miss school, it is easy to fall behind and miss out on exciting lessons and activities. Poor attendance can also affect our friendships, making it harder to join in class discussions and group projects.

In line with Department for Education guidance we won’t be authorising any holidays during term time, absences that are not illness related will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances. Please book holidays outside of term time, and appointments outside school hours if possible – if not possible then your child should attend school before and after the appointment and we will need to see evidence (hospital, appointment card) to authorise the absence.

Did you know we offer instrumental lessons to children in Years 3-6?

Our team of tutors offer lessons in:

  • Piano
  • Singing
  • Flute
  • Clarinet
  • Trumpet
  • Drums
  • Guitar

These lessons are at a subsidised fee that is payable through the MCAS app! Please ask at the office for more information.

LATE COLLECTION OF PUPILS

Some pupils are regularly being collected late from the office after school instead of the park. We understand that occasionally parents/carers may unexpectedly be late. However if you regularly arrive late to collect, we will send your child to after school club and you will be expected to pay the £7.50 charge for this club. Thank you for your cooperation.

Build confidence in your child

We are hosting a free workshop for parents and carers to learn more about anxiety in children and learn some tips for how to build confidence in their children.

The event will take place Monday 1st December, 9.00am.

Illness

We understand sometimes children can feel unwell in the mornings, but we encourage you to send them to school if they have a minor cough or cold. See NHS guidelines for further details.

We are able to administer medication to your child if they are in school and require it. Please bring it to the school of office and a staff member will give you a consent form to complete.
