Attendance Focus Week

Attendance Focus Week will take place in the first week after the half term break – w/c 1st June.

The class with the top attendance percentage will win a special popcorn party! Pupils should ensure to be in school every day and on time to give your class the best chance of winning! Good luck!

World Culture Day

Our school was transformed into a celebration of the world as children arrived dressed in stunning traditional outfits and bright colours representing their heritages.

The children proudly took part in a cultural fashion parade and explored different traditions from around the globe. It has been wonderful to see them celebrate both their individuality and our shared community with such pride.

Nur/Rec

Ziyad –For some great independent writing about the Three Little Pigs.
Yusuf –Yusuf always puts his hand up on the carpet and shows his excellence and enthusiasm for learning.

 

1/2 Red

Anabia – For her amazing work in Read Write and always being well behaved throughout the day. Well done for being a great role model, keep it up!
Ayman – For showing great determination in Maths and always trying his best. Fantastic work, keep it up!
Xavier – For always showing great attitude towards his learning and being such a positive presence in the class. Keep it up!

 

2/3 Red

Rahima –Rahima is star pupil for Integrity. Rahima is new to Solebay and she is always doing the right thing. She displays a great model of behaviour and takes wonderful care with her beautifully neat handwriting.

Amelia – Amelia is a truly deserving Star Pupil. Lately, she has worked incredibly hard in all subjects and has shown amazing determination. Amelia stands out because she always strives for excellence and shows great integrity by doing the right thing. She is a fantastic role model and a pleasure to teach.

 

3/4 Red

Danyal – Danyal has been showing exceptional behaviour and also fantastic outcomes in his book work. You should be very proud of yourself Danyal!
Tiana – Tiana has been working exceptionally hard in all her books and she should be really proud of herself for being a great role model.

 

5 Red

Emerhys, Emilia-Rose, Seerat, Shiloh and Umayr – For staying on task and working well independently.
Safwan – For making a conscious effort to stay on task in class and improve his behaviour.
Tajri – For a beautiful outcome in Art!

6 Red

After months of dedicated preparation and hard work, our Year 6 pupils have truly excelled during SATs week. I am immensely proud of every single one of them. Beyond their academic efforts, what impressed me most was how they supported one another, ensuring the classroom remained a calm and safe environment for everyone. Well done, Year 6!

Reporting Absence

Attendance and Punctuality

It is important for all our pupils to come to school every day and on time! Regular attendance and punctuality helps us learn well in school, make friends and have fun. When we miss school, it is easy to fall behind and miss out on exciting lessons and activities. Poor attendance can also affect our friendships, making it harder to join in class discussions and group projects.

In line with Department for Education guidance we won’t be authorising any holidays during term time, absences that are not illness related will only be authorised in exceptional circumstances. Please book holidays outside of term time, and appointments outside school hours if possible – if not possible then your child should attend school before and after the appointment and we will need to see evidence (hospital, appointment card) to authorise the absence.

Unauthorised Absences in Term Time

We follow government guidance on term time holidays and we do not authorise pupil holidays during term time. We encourage parents/carers to take their holidays during one of the scheduled holiday breaks.

You can be fined or face legal action for taking your child on holiday during term time.

Did you know we offer instrumental lessons to children in Years 3-6?

Our team of tutors offer lessons in:

  • Piano
  • Singing
  • Flute
  • Clarinet
  • Trumpet
  • Drums
  • Guitar

These lessons are at a subsidised fee that is payable through the MCAS app! Please ask at the office for more information.

LATE COLLECTION OF PUPILS

Some pupils are regularly being collected late from the office after school instead of the park. We understand that occasionally parents/carers may unexpectedly be late. However if you regularly arrive late to collect, we will send your child to after school club and you will be expected to pay the £7.50 charge for this club. Thank you for your cooperation.

Illness

We understand sometimes children can feel unwell in the mornings, but we encourage you to send them to school if they have a minor cough or cold. See NHS guidelines for further details.

We are able to administer medication to your child if they are in school and require it. Please bring it to the school of office and a staff member will give you a consent form to complete.
