Sports Day 2026

Although we only held a half-day Sports Day this year, it was a fantastic success!

The event got off to a wonderful start with the children’s opening dance, which brought energy, excitement and plenty of smiles from the crowd.

Everyone enjoyed the fast-paced schedule, the inclusive range of activities, and the exciting races throughout the morning. The addition of the competitive 400m event brought an extra buzz to the day and was a particular highlight for many.

A huge well done to all of our children for their enthusiasm, determination and excellent sportsmanship throughout the event. Thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to cheer on and support the children. Your encouragement helped make it such a memorable and enjoyable occasion for everyone.

Sonali Gardens Day Centre

Some of our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils brightened the Sonali Gardens Day Centre this week with a fantastic afternoon of dance, poetry reading and games.

Pupils performed a dance piece and read out poems. The pupils also shared tea and biscuits with the service users and enjoyed spending time with them making puzzles, colouring in and playing snakes and ladders. Thank you to the day centre and Year 5 and 6 pupils for making it such a heartwarming experience!

Year 6 Production

Last week, Year 6 staged their end of year production of School of Rock.

Each and every one of them was fantastic. The dedication they’ve shown over the last couple of months, learning all of their lines and songs, has been wonderful to watch. And then throughout all of last week in rehearsals, they brought energy, enthusiasm and passion, resulting in a truly brilliant show.

Also a huge shout out to Mia for being by my side through the whole thing and helping to make the show the best it could be. Year 6 should all be so proud of themselves. There’ll be a big hole at Solebay come September, but I wish them all the best as they enter their next chapters!

Winner of the Prize Draw

Elsie-Mae – Well done for showing increasing confidence during maths lessons and attempting the challenges with a positive attitude and enthusiasm. Keep up the fantastic work!
Eshaal – For showing excellent listening skills and focus in class. A fantastic attitude towards learning has been evident in every lesson. Well done!


3/4 Red

Ibrahim and Safi – for integrity, they were very eager to swap their sandwiches with a pupil who really didn’t want to have the sandwich he had, they offered it without being asked and with so much enthusiasm!

 

5 Red

Hanaa – Excellence: Hanaa won the girls’ 400m race, delivering an outstanding performance and demonstrating exceptional determination and athletic ability. Congratulations on a fantastic achievement.
Hussain – Integrity: Hussain took part in the boys’ 400m race and showed perseverance, he continued to finish the race and showed great determination. Well done!

 

6 Red

Rizwan – For showing kindness towards his peers. He made sure that no one felt left out of the celebration.
Omar – For giving us an excellent performance, he really embodied the character and gave it his all!

Great British Summer Savings

Rising prices can make life’s little treats harder to afford, especially during the school holidays when costs build up for families. This Government is determined to help, and that is why last month the Chancellor announced the Great British Summer Savings scheme.

From 25 June to 1 September 2026, the Government is temporarily cutting VAT from 20% to 5% on children’s meals in restaurants, children and family tickets to cinemas, theatres, concerts and exhibitions, and admission to a wide range of attractions. Combined with free bus travel during August for children aged 5 to 15 in England, families and young people will be able to enjoy experiences that make summer special, including visits to the kinds of cultural and educational attractions that enrich children’s lives outside the classroom.

Unsung Heroes

This week’s unsung hero is Mia for her tireless hard work, energy and dedication to our pupils and for organising an outstanding sports day for everyone this week. It was a fantastic event as always and the pupils, staff and parents/carers thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Mia.

Did you know we offer instrumental lessons to children in Years 3-6?

Our team of tutors offer lessons in:

  • Piano
  • Singing
  • Flute
  • Clarinet
  • Trumpet
  • Drums
  • Guitar

These lessons are at a subsidised fee that is payable through the MCAS app! Please ask at the office for more information.

LATE COLLECTION OF PUPILS

Some pupils are regularly being collected late from the office after school instead of the park. We understand that occasionally parents/carers may unexpectedly be late. However if you regularly arrive late to collect, we will send your child to after school club and you will be expected to pay the £7.50 charge for this club. Thank you for your cooperation.
