This week pupils who have access to our flexible provision enjoyed another hands-on cooking session where they learned how to make their own tacos.
The lesson was inspired by the story Dragons Love Tacos, which helped create an engaging and imaginative context for learning. Pupils showed great enthusiasm as they explored different ingredients, followed simple instructions, and practised important life skills such as food preparation, choice-making, and independence. The story link supported communication and understanding, encouraging pupils to connect the characters’ love of tacos with their own cooking experience.
The session also provided valuable opportunities to develop fine motor skills, teamwork, and confidence in a supportive environment. It was wonderful to see pupils so motivated and proud of their creations, and the activity successfully combined literacy, creativity, and practical learning in a fun and meaningful way.
