Reception visit the Natural History Museum

Reception pupils had a fantastic time at the Natural History Museum, learning about dinosaurs.

We saw lots of different types of dinosaurs and we learnt some new information about some of our favourite dinosaurs. We explored the Museum and we learnt more about fossils and some of our favourite animals.

Young Voices 2026

What a night to remember!

Our amazing Solebay Primary Academy choir took to the stage at the iconic O2 Arena as part of the Young Voices 30th Anniversary — and wow, did they shine!

After months of dedication and rehearsals with our music teacher Christian from @love2sing, the atmosphere was absolutely electric. Our pupils sang their hearts out, belting out classic 90s hits and show-stopping songs from Wicked, alongside thousands of other young voices.

The pride, confidence and joy on their faces said it all. What an extraordinary experience and a truly unforgettable celebration of music, teamwork and talent. A HUGE thank you to the parents/carers who danced the night away with us!

We couldn’t be prouder of our singers — and a huge thank you to everyone who helped make his magical night possible!

Please be reminded that if your child is being collected by somebody other than the parent/carer, you MUST let the admin office know by call or email.

Unsung Hero

Every great performance needs a brilliant conductor, and ours is Christian! From leading our choir all the way to Young Voices to crafting every note, harmony, and arrangement, Christian turned rehearsals into magic and helped our children find their voices (and confidence!). Huge thanks also to our incredible music team – Emma and Patrick – and to Paul and Reine for supporting the act and for keeping our pupils safe. A true ensemble effort, led by an absolute unsung hero! 🎤🌟

Let’s not forget Preet, she truly deserves this Unsung Hero nomination! She stepped into Year 5 at very short notice late in the year and absolutely hit the ground running. Taking on the class with confidence, energy and care, she’s made a real impact in such a short space of time. Preet has worked tirelessly to get to know the pupils, build strong relationships and raise the bar in their learning. Her dedication and drive for excellence shine through every day. Thank you, Preet — your hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed and is very much appreciated!

LATE COLLECTION OF PUPILS

Some pupils are regularly being collected late from the office after school instead of the park. We understand that occasionally parents/carers may unexpectedly be late. However if you regularly arrive late to collect, we will send your child to after school club and you will be expected to pay the £7.50 charge for this club. Thank you for your cooperation.
