How to have your say.

Your views are important to us: we’re always happy to hear your questions, comments and concerns.

Speak to the class teacher

It’s nearly always possible for you to speak with the class teacher for a moment or two before and after school, and for longer discussions an appointment can be made within a day or two. These appointments can be made if you have specific concerns or would like to know more about supporting your child or the school.

Parent consultations are held three times throughout the school year and are a great opportunity for you to discuss your child’s academic progress.

Speak to the principal

You can also speak to the principal about any concerns you may have. The principal will treat all concerns appropriately and discuss ways of dealing with your concerns. We welcome all comments and feedback from parents/carers.

Put your views in writing

You can email or write to the principal. All correspondence will be dealt with efficiently and responded to. We welcome your feedback (even anonymously).

Contact Ofsted

Parent View gives you the chance to tell us what you think about the academy.

Parent view asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of the school, from the quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour.

Ofsted uses the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when. At the parent view website, you will also be able to see what other parents/carers have said and if you want to you can view the results for any other school in England.

Look out for letters to parents/carers

Your questions, concerns and comments are often answered in our weekly newsletter or in letters to parents’/carers’ or by text message. The newsletters generally have specific information on one side or the other and letters to parents/carers are class or whole school based.

Texts are sent out for many reasons e.g. as a reminder or to inform you of a school closure. If you do not receive these please contact the administration office to update your contact details.

Make a complaint

Complaints are rare but can occur. Have a quick chat with the teacher or the principal as most concerns or complaints can be dealt with quickly.

However, if parents/carers feel the need to make a formal complaint, it should be made in writing and addressed to the principal – please see our complaints procedure for guidance.
